Marriage and Divorce

I found an eviction notice taped to our apartment door, and my husband swore it was a billing mistake. Then our landlord asked why I’d already moved out on the renewal form my husband had signed without me.

I thought we were discussing how to save our marriage. My husband had already moved on to pricing its remains.

I expected flowers, a forced toast, and another silent car ride home. I did not expect my husband to bring a folder.
